Hospitality Services Associate

About the Position:

Fresno Mission works to Rescue, Restore and Empower those dealing with life insecurities through Christ-centered communities.

We are currently seeking a dependable, service-minded Hospitality Services Associate to join our team. This is a part-time, hands-on position that supports multiple areas of Fresno Mission's hospitality operations.

This position will split time between serving guests as a barista at EZ-47 Coffee and supporting Fresno Mission Food Services with catering, special events, food preparation and other hospitality needs.

The ideal candidate enjoys serving people, works well in a fast-paced environment, and is willing to jump in wherever needed. Because this role supports different areas and events throughout Fresno Mission, open availability and flexibility are important.

Job Responsibilities:

EZ-47 Coffee

• Prepare and serve coffee, espresso beverages and other menu items according to established recipes and standards
• Provide friendly, welcoming and attentive customer service
• Operate the point-of-sale system and accurately process transactions
• Maintain a clean, organized and welcoming coffee shop environment
• Restock products, ingredients and supplies as needed
• Assist with opening and closing responsibilities
• Follow all food safety and sanitation procedures
• Support the daily needs of the coffee shop as assigned

Catering & Food Services

• Assist the Food Services team with catering preparation and service for Fresno Mission events and outside catering needs
• Help prepare, package and transport food and supplies
• Assist with food preparation and meal service as needed
• Set up and break down catering and special events
• Serve guests during events in a welcoming and professional manner
• Assist with dishes, cleaning and kitchen sanitation
• Stock, organize and rotate food and supplies
• Help load and unload food, beverages, equipment and event supplies
• Follow all food handling, sanitation and safety procedures
• Support other Food Services and hospitality needs as assigned

Qualifications & Requirements

• A servant's heart and a desire to serve the least, the last and the lost
• Friendly and welcoming with strong customer service skills
• Dependable, punctual and able to work well as part of a team
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced and changing environment
• Willingness to move between coffee shop, catering, event and food service responsibilities as needed
• Open availability, including mornings, evenings and weekends as needed for scheduled shifts, catering and special events
• Food Handler's certificate/permit or willingness to obtain one
• Previous barista, restaurant, catering, hospitality or food service experience preferred
• Excellent communication, time management and organizational skills
• Ability to work around grills, ovens, stovetops and other commercial food service equipment
• Ability to stand for extended periods and regularly bend, stoop, push, pull and lift up to 50 pounds
• Valid Class C driver's license and clean driving record preferred
• Possess a testimony of faith and experience in Jesus and maintain a Christian walk
• Must be in agreement with the Statement of Faith of Fresno Mission
