Hotshot Freight Dispatcher - Career Growth Potential

The Logistics Hot Shot Dispatcher plays a pivotal role in orchestrating seamless freight transportation operations. Collaborating closely with truck drivers, colleagues, businesses, and clients, the Dispatcher ensures the efficient coordination of shipments from scheduling through to pick-up and delivery.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

• Require High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• At least 3 years’ experience in Hot Shot industry.
• At least 3 years’ experience in logistics and/or supply chain management

REQUIRED SKILLS / ABILITIES

• Ability to work independently or in a team setting.
• Must be able to effectively communicate, in English, both verbally and in writing.
• Excellent interpersonal, teamwork and customer service skills.
• Strong knowledge of dispatching, office procedures and basic paperwork processes.
• Must have excellent time management skills.
• Must have excellent organizational skills.
• Must be highly detail oriented.
• Must have advanced computer skills.
• Must be available and willing to work Monday through Friday, 7 am to 5pm. Saturday only if needed.
• Must have good experience in Microsoft Office.
• Dependable – attendance, being on time as well as being at work as expected is very important.
• Must be familiar with Hot Shot equipment and procedures.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Managing truck drivers’ schedules and routes.
• Scheduling freight to be picked up and delivered.
• Providing shipping details to customers.
• Reviewing logs of truck drivers.
• Documenting all calls, deliveries, routes and times for pickups and deliveries.
• Completing paperwork related to shipments, such as invoices.
• Handling customer complaints and inquiries.
• Negotiating rates and delivery timelines.
