House Supervisor – Full-Time Day Shift


Position Summary


The House Supervisor provides leadership and operational oversight during the day shift, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care throughout the hospital. This role serves as the administrative representative for the hospital, supports nursing staff, coordinates patient flow, assists with staffing, and collaborates with department leaders to maintain exceptional patient care and regulatory compliance.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities



  • Provide clinical and operational leadership for hospital departments during the day shift.

  • Serve as the administrative representative and resource for nursing and ancillary staff.

  • Coordinate staffing assignments and adjust staffing levels based on patient census and acuity.

  • Support patient admissions, transfers, and discharges to promote efficient patient flow.

  • Respond to clinical emergencies, rapid responses, and Code Blue events as needed.

  • Assist with conflict resolution involving patients, families, physicians, and staff.

  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies, regulatory standards, and patient safety initiatives.

  • Round on patient care units to monitor quality, safety, and staff support needs.

  • Collaborate with department directors and physicians to resolve operational issues.

  • Provide coaching, mentoring, and guidance to nursing staff.

  • Complete administrative reports, incident documentation, and shift summaries.

  • Participate in quality improvement and performance improvement initiatives.

  • Maintain confidentiality and uphold HIPAA standards.


Qualifications



  • Current California Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; MSN preferred.

  • Minimum of three (3) years of acute care nursing experience.

  • Previous charge nurse, supervisory, or leadership experience preferred.

  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications required.

  • Excellent communication, leadership, organizational, and critical-thinking skills.

  • Ability to make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.


Physical Requirements



  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.

  • Ability to lift, push, pull, and move up to 50 pounds with assistance as needed.

  • Ability to respond quickly to emergency situations throughout the facility.


Schedule



  • Full-Time

  • Day Shift

  • Weekends and holidays as required based on operational needs.
