Job Description - Housekeeping

Monitor and perform the duties of housekeeping staff in keeping guest rooms and public areas of the hotel clean and in serviceable condition to ensure procedures are followed, standards maintained and quality service given in a safe, secure, accident-free manner. The following reflects the essential job duties but does not restrict additional tasks that may be assigned. Duties of this job may be changed at management’s discretion.


Essential Duties include::


• Provide a clean and safe environment for guests

• Clean all assigned guest rooms including special clean items and equipment daily to ensure quality service

• Assist daily with cleaning of rooms to include but not limited to: Clean guest rooms and stock with appropriate supplies in the prescribed manner while following safety and security procedures and regulations

• Change bed linens, clean bathrooms, pick up trash, sweep and dust guest rooms and clean windows

• Follow rules, safety rules, security procedures and housekeeping procedures and standards are understood and followed

• Report all safety hazards, theft of room items, items requiring repair and housekeeping concerns to management

• Inspect vending areas, storerooms and stairwells for cleanliness

• Notify laundry of linen requirement necessary to clean the early check out rooms

• Respond and comply with all guest requests, issues and problems to ensure guest satisfaction

• Attend and participate in all mandatory trainings

• Flexible with schedule and assignments

• Knowledge and completion of property cleaning procedures

• Maintain effective performance under pressure

• Follow proper procedures for lost and found items

• Follow guest requests, ie do not disturb signs, change of linen or terry

• Acknowledge and greet guests in public spaces

• Review daily inventory of supplies needed to complete assignments

• May perform similar duties as requested by supervisor


Requirements::


• Good customer service skills

• Ability to work independently and with others

• Good communication skills

• Excellent organizational skills to maintain linen closets and carts

• Attention to detail

• Ability to frequently lift/carry up to 15 lbs.

• Ability to occasionally lift/carry up to 35 lbs.

• Ability to multi task

• Displays good initiative
