Housekeeping Aide

General Job Description

Performs assigned duties related to cleaning the entire facility. Also includes washing, drying, folding and delivery of resident’s personal laundry, and facility laundry.

Essential Functions

• Consistently demonstrate the core values and mission of the facility.
• Follow assigned cleaning schedules for resident’s rooms, and facility areas. This includes vacuuming, dusting, sweeping, mopping, cleaning bathrooms, washing windows, and any assigned cleaning tasks.
• Maintain facility at established cleanliness standards determined by Head Housekeeper or Maintenance Director.
• Follow established schedules for completing residents rooms and facility laundry.
• Maintain work carts using supply request forms and checking daily for restocking.
• Report items requiring repair in the facility or residents rooms, such as burnt out light bulbs, leaks, or similar problems.
• Complete Quality Assurance checklist prior to resident moving into room.
• Report all unusual or out of character observations of residents to the Resident Care Aide
• Director, Case Manager, or Head Housekeeper.
• Maintain polite, sensitive, mature, cooperative relationships with residents, resident’s visitors, community members, and employees.
• Be knowledgeable of, and implement as required, Woodbrook’s fire and evacuation procedures. Be familiar with fire alarm locations, and routes of evacuation.
• Must maintain regular and punctual attendance.
• Perform other related duties and responsibilities as required.

Requirements

Qualifications

Required:

• Completion of at least two (2) years of High School.
• Speak, read, and write English.
• Work well with diverse resident population, and adapt to changes.
• Ability to recall and follow instructions.
• Must meet all pre-employment requirements including physical, TB test, drug screening, and fingerprinting.
• Must maintain regular and punctual attendance.

Desired:

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Prior experience performing housekeeping duties.

Physical Demands

• Regularly speak, see, or hear.
• Frequently sit, stand, walk, use fingers to handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms.
• Occasionally lift, move, push, carry, or pull up to 25 pounds.
• Frequently, balance, stoop, kneel, and crouch.
• Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.

Other Duties

• Assume additional responsibilities as needed and directed.
