Housekeeping Supervisor

Description

Position Summary: Plans, organizes, and directs the provisions of housekeeping services for the District. (Hospital, Clinics, and Education Anex) Establishes policies, procedures, and departmental objectives. Supervises department personnel and all functions including maintaining clean and sanitary conditions, maintains housekeeping supplies and equipment. 

Requirements

· Education: High School graduate or equivalent preferred.

· Personal Job-Related Skills: Leadership and management abilities and effective oral and written communication skills. Knowledge of housekeeping operations. 

· Licensure, Registry or Certification: None Required.

· Current State Driver License Required.

· Prior Work Experience: Two years of experience in housekeeping or related area, supervisory experience preferred.

· Technical Training: None required.

· Physical and Mental Requirements: Position requires extended periods of walking and standing. Lifting up to 50 pounds and transporting up to 300 pounds on carts. Pushing and pulling carts, bending, stooping, and reaching in storing supplies and cleaning activities.  The ability to climb ladders and reach overhead. The ability to comprehend and follow written and verbal instructions or directions. 

· Conscientious worker with attention to detail.

· Knowledge of hospital procedures and operations.

· Manual dexterity, both fine and gross motor skills required.

· Must be able to follow instructions and assigned routine.

· Must be courteous in interactions with patients and other District Team Members.

· Preference for repetitive activities.

· Capable of judgment, discretion and respect for confidential information.

· Mechanical ability required to operate various machines.
