Position Summary: The Housekeeping Supervisor is a working Supervisor position (will periodically have to clean rooms) and will oversee the day-to-day flow of the cleaning of guest rooms to the very high standard of The Lantern Columbia.

Essential Job Functions 

• Schedule the Housekeepers on a weekly basis and assign rooms daily.  


• Train housekeepers, provide "feed forward", advance them to work without assistance.  


• Be the "go to" person for the front desk as rooms are cleaned and assigned.  


• Inventory supplies and provide lists of needed items in a timely fashion.


• Investigate complaints regarding housekeeping services and takes corrective action.


• Inspect rooms completed by Housekeepers, periodically inspect rooms completed by Master Housekeepers.  


• Certify Master Housekeepers.  


• Clean guest rooms that are not assigned to team.  


• Use app to track speed of housekeepers, ensure rooms are ready on arrival (including early arrivals).


• Immediately report any technical issues and maintenance needs, work with Maintenance to have all rooms available.  


• Ensure housekeepers are following all standards, processes, and guidelines.  


• Provide feed forward, coaching and counseling under the direction of the Director of Rooms. 


• Interview prospective housekeepers.   


• Follow all health and safety rules


• Attends meetings as required

Experience and Education: 

Must have experience working in a hotel or hospital housekeeping department.

Leadership experience preferred (interviewing, coaching, counseling, overseeing task completion).  

High school diploma, GED or equivalent required.
