The Job
To support the community by operating the housekeeping department in a cost-effective, efficient manner to safely meet residents’ needs in compliance with federal, state, and local requirements. It is our goal to DELIVER excellent and patient experiences to every patient, resident, family member, and partners in the community.
Responsibilities
- Follow oral and written instructions.
- Work a rotating schedule and assist the supervisor as needed
- Maintain material data safety sheets current to chemicals used in all departments.
- Organize and maintain all records necessary to operate the housekeeping department.
- Develop and implement cleaning schedules for the housekeeping department.
- Interview and hire appropriate individuals to implement cleaning schedules.
- Participate in Onboarthe ding process and orient new Team Members to housekeeping duties.
- Supervise cleaning procedures in accordance with Community policy.
- Supervise waste disposal procedures in accordance with Community policy.
- Supervise proper care and use of housekeeping equipment.
- Identify, report to administration, and schedule repair of areas in poor repair.
- Dispense housekeeping equipment and supplies in a cost-effective manner.
- Attend in-service training programs for housekeeping Team Members.
- Follow the Community safety program and hold subordinates accountable to the same.
- Come to work as scheduled and consistently demonstrate dependability and punctuality.
- Accept assigned duties in a cooperative manner.
- Perform all duties assigned in an effective, timely, and professional manner.
- Observe infection control procedures.
- Follow Residents’ Rights policies at all times and be responsible for the safety of residents related to housekeeping duties.
- Observe all Community policies and procedures and perform other related duties as directed by his/her supervisor.
- Assume Quality Assurance duties as assigned.
- Come to work in neat, clean attire and consistently present an appropriate professional
- appearance.
- Consistently work cooperatively with residents, residents’ representatives, Community staff,
- physicians, consultants, and ancillary service providers.
- Ensure the QI process is adhered to effectively and consistently for all team members.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED required
At least one year in environmental services as a supervisor in skilled nursing or healthcare.
- Ability to read, write, and follow oral and written instructions in English
- Must be able to speak and understand English to communicate with other supervisors and residents
