Housekeeping Supervisor

St. Vincent de Paul Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, in Berlin, NH is looking for an experienced, full-time Housekeeping Supervisor to join our management team. This position is responsible for the Housekeeping department. 

Full-time position - hours are 7:00a-3:00p with weekends every 5th rotating

Job Responsibilities;

• Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct departmental team members

• Assist the Administrator with budget development/expense monitoring; develop and maintain departmental policies and procedures

• Provide oversight for work performed by outside vendors, ensuring that it is completed in accordance with contracts/work orders

• Develop and participate in the planning, conducting and scheduling of in-services, on-the-job training and orientation programs 

• Ensure that personnel follow established safety regulations in the use of equipment and supplies

• Participate in survey (inspections) made by government agencies; review and develop a Plan of Correction for Housekeeping Department deficiencies and provide a written copy to the Administrator

• Assist the Infection Control Coordinator in identifying, evaluating, and classifying routine and job related maintenance functions to ensure that Category I and II Universal Precautions tasks are properly identified 

• High School diploma or GED

• Minimum two (2) years’ experience in a supervisory capacity in a housekeeping setting (long-term care facility preferred) 

• Knowledge of building codes and safety regulations

• Knowledge of mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems

• Interact professionally with residents, family members, visitors, staff and governmental agencies

• Must be able to work with minimum of supervision; make independent decisions when circumstances warrant; provide leadership
