Housekeeping Supervisor

Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Housekeeping Supervisor to join our team at Caretel Inns Brighton, a skilled nursing facility committed to providing high-quality care to our residents. The Housekeeping Supervisor will oversee the housekeeping team, ensuring that the facility is maintained in a clean, safe, and sanitary condition. This role requires leadership skills, a strong attention to detail, and a commitment to enhancing the quality of life for residents and staff through exceptional environmental services.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and lead housekeeping staff, ensuring tasks are completed according to established cleaning schedules and standards.
• Train and mentor housekeeping team members in proper cleaning techniques, safety protocols, and infection control procedures.
• Conduct regular inspections of resident rooms, common areas, and administrative spaces to ensure cleanliness and compliance with regulatory standards.
• Collaborate with nursing and maintenance staff to address any cleanliness or facility maintenance issues.
• Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, ensuring the safe and efficient use of materials.
• Monitor staff performance, provide feedback, and ensure that all staff adhere to company policies and procedures.
• Assist with the development and implementation of housekeeping procedures and schedules to optimize workflow and efficiency.
• Ensure that all cleaning activities meet infection control standards and state/federal regulatory requirements.
• Report any safety hazards, maintenance issues, or equipment malfunctions to the appropriate personnel.
• Maintain a positive and professional working relationship with residents, families, and other team members.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; additional certification in environmental services or healthcare-related fields preferred.
• Proven experience in housekeeping or environmental services, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role, preferably in a healthcare or long-term care setting.
• Knowledge of cleaning and sanitation products, equipment, and techniques.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage, train, and motivate a team.
• Ability to follow safety guidelines and infection control protocols.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff.
• Ability to lift and move items as necessary, and perform tasks requiring physical exertion.
