Housekeeping Supervisor - Cleveland Y

Join the YMCA team as a Housekeeping Supervisor at the Cleveland Family Y location. As a highly skilled and motivated individual, you will lead the housekeeping department, ensuring the building is clean, sanitized, and secure.

The typical shifts for this position are Monday-Friday from 8:30-5 (with a lunch), with the need to fill in other shifts as needed.

RESPONSIBILITES:

• Creates daily and weekly schedules for housekeeping duties
• Maintains upkeep of assigned areas and equipment
• Operates motorized and non-motorized equipment
• Records and reports needed repairs
• Ensures building security and reports incidents
• Manages inventory and orders necessary supplies
• Supervises housekeeping department members, including scheduling
• Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

• 1+ year of related experience preferred
• Prior supervisory experience preferred
• Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents required
• Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment required
• Basic understanding of cleaning methods and equipment
• Understanding of cleaning compounds and chemicals, and their safe, effective use

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Sufficient physical strength and agility to carry out essential duties & responsibilities
• Ability to work with cleaning equipment, chemical compounds, solvents, cleaners, and solutions in dry, liquid, powder, spray, and aerosol forms.
• Ability to work in conditions that will create dirt and dust.
• Ability to perform essential maintenance to facility or equipment which may involve, but not limited to the following activities: semi – reaching to full-reach overhead; crouching; kneeling; shoveling; carrying, working in narrow and/or confining spaces: underground, overhead, and at ground level; twisting of the waist, shoulders, and legs; and lying on stomach and/or back.
