Houseperson - Hampton Inn & Suites Wilmington Christiana

At the Hampton Inn & Suites Wilmington Christiana, we’re looking for a dependable, hardworking, and hands-on Houseperson who enjoys staying busy and being the person the team can count on to jump in wherever help is needed.

As a Houseperson, you’ll play an important role in keeping the hotel clean, organized, and running smoothly. You’ll work closely with our Housekeeping and Maintenance teams by delivering linens and supplies, maintaining public and back-of-house areas, assisting with cleaning and basic maintenance needs, moving furniture and equipment, and responding to guest requests throughout the hotel.

This is a great role for someone who likes variety, enjoys being on the move, works well with others, and takes pride in getting things done. No two days will look exactly the same, so we’re looking for someone who is flexible, reliable, and willing to roll up their sleeves and help wherever the hotel needs them.

What You’ll Do

• Support the Housekeeping team with linens, supplies, cleaning, and room needs
• Collect, transport, and distribute clean and used linens throughout the hotel
• Keep public areas, back-of-house spaces, and assigned areas clean and organized
• Remove trash and waste from guest and hotel areas
• Restock housekeeping supplies, linens, and amenities
• Move furniture, mattresses, equipment, and supplies as needed
• Assist Maintenance with basic tasks such as changing light bulbs, unclogging drains, and minor repairs
• Help with event setup and breakdown, including arranging furniture and equipment
• Assist with outdoor cleaning and keeping walkways and exterior areas presentable
• Respond to guest requests, including delivering amenities and assisting with luggage
• Work closely with Housekeeping, Maintenance, and other hotel departments
• Jump in and assist with other tasks based on the needs of the hotel

What We’re Looking For

Experience is always a plus, but we’re really looking for someone with a strong work ethic, a helpful attitude, and the willingness to get the job done.

• Can manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced hotel environment

• Is comfortable performing basic maintenance-related tasks
• Is flexible to work weekends and holidays based on hotel needs
• Has previous hotel, houseperson, maintenance, or physical labor experience a plus, but not required

This is an active position that requires extended periods of standing and walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, climbing stairs and ladders, pushing and pulling carts and equipment, and lifting and carrying items up to 50 pounds.
