Job Summary

Provide support and assistance to individuals, families and survivors of violence experiencing homelessness and to those at imminent risk of losing their housing by assessing referrals from Coordinated Entry and determining eligibility for programming and initiating transitions to programming.

What You Will Do:

• Identify appropriate housing units for clients/survivors entering housing programs.
  


• Assist clients/survivors in FOF housing programs in their housing search, specifically with; applications, landlord negotiation, landlord mediation, unit viewings and inspections. 
  


• Maintain a list of available and eligible units in the service area and distribute to clients/survivors and colleagues.
  


• Deliver progressive engagement services to participants/survivors in the identified service area.
  


• Assist with housing preparedness by supporting the participant/survivor in securing needed documentation, references, credit reports, utility arrears, etc.
  


• Provide education and facilitation to landlords and housing programs around unique barriers to survivors of violence. 
  


• Provide resources and education on tenant rights.
  


• Schedule timely inspections and landlord corrective action.
  


• Actively participate in Coordinated Entry meetings and build positive relationships with community partners, and participants. 
  


• Engage with landlords throughout the service area and work to build positive relationships, enhancing opportunities and reducing barriers for participants/survivors. 
  


• Comply with data tracking & documentation.

Job Qualification and Competencies:

• Must demonstrate ability to organize, prioritize and plan work to meet deadlines.
  


• Ensure confidentiality is in place for all people FOF serves.
  


• Bachelor Degree in social work, psychology, related field OR combination of equivalent education and experience. 
  


• Previous experience in the following preferred: housing programming, affordable housing, access programming and/or victim service programming.
  


• Ability to travel throughout the FOF service area to provide in-person advocacy services and to other locations within the state as necessary for training purposes.
  


• Ability to pass state, federal, and child abuse background checks.
