The Housing Specialist will provide housing support services to individuals and families seeking rental assistance under contracts held by the Urban League of Greater Pittsburgh. These services must adhere to contract guidelines, funding regulations, and internal directives. Responsibilities include delivering high-quality housing support and customer service, assisting individuals and families in securing new housing opportunities, maintaining a database of housing leads, and providing comprehensive support through one-on-one sessions, group education, and fair housing enforcement and remedies. The ideal candidate is committed to continuous improvement in housing services and advocacy.

Requirements

• Associate degree in Human Services, Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, Criminal Justice, or related field Preferred. 
• 1 year of experience in Social service counseling, real estate practices, property management, housing counseling, or case management required. 

 Core Skills and Qualities: 

•  Knowledge of Housing Programs & Regulations – Understanding of rental assistance programs, fair housing laws, and compliance requirements. 
• Case Management – Ability to assess client needs, develop housing plans, and provide ongoing support.
• Customer Service & Client Advocacy – Strong ability to assist and advocate for individuals and families in securing stable housing.
