DC Government Agency is seeking the support of an HR Specialist to provide expert guidance and support on matters related to compensation, retirement, and classification. This role will be active and on site through the end of the fiscal year, possibly longer. Will be required to pass a background check.
This is a 6-month contract.
The Contractor shall:
1 Helps ensure that all compensation-related laws, rules, and regulations are adhered to, and prepares and provides client communications related to the same.
2 Provide guidance to hiring managers and the Strategic Staffing team regarding salary placement, service credit, and salary negotiations.
3 Research compensation and service history records and prepare compensation analyses.
4 Prepares salary schedules, gathers compensation data, and generates compensation reports.
5 Participates in periodic compensation functions, including implementing step holds and longevity step increases, to ensure proper step progression when manual workarounds are necessary.
6 Ensures within-grade increases are processed on time and according to specifications so that retroactive increase processing is kept to a minimum.
7 Receives requests for Educational Level Promotion, reviews documentation, determines eligibility, liaises with the Office of the Chief Financial Officer to secure processing approvals, and processes adjustments in PeopleSoft.
8 Makes severance determinations, prepares severance calculations and documentation ensures processing by the Office of Pay and Retirement Services, handles client concerns, and provides reports, as requested.
9 Processes personnel actions and tracks the processing of personnel transactions by other teams as related to Compensation functions.
10 Works with the Manager, Benefits & Compensation to resolve critical compensation concerns received from the Chancellor, Deputy Chancellor, Chief, and/or Senior Director, HR Operations.
Contractor shall:
1 Troubleshoots processing problems and liaises with requisite groups, including the Office of Pay & Retirement Services, Office of the Chief Financial Officer, and vendors.
2 Processes transactions in PeopleSoft.
3 Works with our Strategic Staffing and Offboarding teams to ensure that retirement data is layered into the information sent to school leaders to inform staffing decisions for both the end and the beginning of the school year.
4 Logs transactions and ensures that paperwork is filed in the requisite Official Personnel Files.
5 Compiles data and runs periodic reports.
