PL Developments, also known as PLD, is a leading manufacturer, packager, and distributor of over-the-counter (OTC) pharmaceutical products and consumer healthcare goods. 


SUMMARY:


The HR Coordinator is the primary point of contact for employees visiting the HR office, responding to inquiries and providing support to ensure a positive employee experience. This role also supports the HR department through data entry, data verification, correspondence management, and record maintenance. The ideal candidate is a proactive self-starter who seeks out tasks, asks questions when needed, and uses sound judgment when evaluating situations. Strong problem-solving skills, organization, Excel proficiency, and exceptional customer service are essential for interacting with employees at all levels with tact and professionalism.


JOB QUALIFICATIONS:



  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish required.

  • Minimum of 2 years of Human Resources experience required.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, with strong Excel skills; HRIS or payroll system experience preferred.

  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and time-management skills.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a friendly, professional, and service-oriented approach.

  • Ability to interact effectively with employees, supervisors, and managers at all levels.

  • Strong problem-solving skills, sound judgment, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.

  • Ability to work outside core business hours when needed.


POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Serve as a first point of contact for employees visiting the HR office and provide support with HR policies, procedures, employee relations questions, and general concerns.

  • Communicate professionally with employees, supervisors, and managers across departments to support HR needs and follow-up.

  • Conduct new hire orientation and benefits orientation as needed.

  • Complete new hire data entry and verification in E-Verify, HRIS, Oracle, and other applicable systems.

  • Prepare onboarding materials and assist with training sessions.

  • Maintain working knowledge of company benefit plans, program offerings, wellness initiatives, and related employee resources.

  • Assist with coordinating, communicating, and supporting benefits enrollment meetings, including annual Open Enrollment sessions.

  • Provide recruiting support as needed, including resume pre-screening, interview scheduling, and reference checks.

  • Assist with processing terminations, including documentation, exit interviews, system updates, and file maintenance.

  • Support the temporary employee conversion process, including coordination, documentation, and system updates as needed.

  • Use Excel to track, organize, and analyze HR-related data, including employee information, attendance, and other HR metrics.

  • Compile HR reports and support HR projects, employee events, and department initiatives.

  • Maintain and update employee records, HR forms, databases, access cards, employee photos, and signature cards.

  • Manage HR filing, data entry, data verification, copying, and other administrative recordkeeping needs.

  • Order and maintain HR office supplies.

  • Assist with FMLA and leave-of-absence administration.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:



  • Adhere to all safety policies; includes wearing personal protective equipment when required

  • Ability to sit for extended periods and use a computer keyboard and mouse. 

  • Proficiency in typing and data entry. 

  • Capability to lift and carry up to 20 pounds for filing and organizing documents. 

  • Mobility to move around the office and interact with employees as needed, which includes the ability to climb stairs to access designated work areas. 

  • Visual acuity to read and analyze documents, correspondence, and computer screens. 

  • Hearing and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate with employees and colleagues.
