The HR Generalist supports the full scope of human resources functions to ensure a positive, productive, and compliant workplace. This role serves as a key partner to employees and managers serving as the first point of contact for HR Related questions.
Position Responsibilities may include, but not limited to
- Conduct in person and virtual orientations and process new hires in applicable systems (HRIS, I-9/E-Verify)
- Maintain employee files and records in electronic format
- Serve as the first point of contact for employee/manager questions or concerns about process, policy, procedure, compensation, benefits, and performance or conduct
- Enhance job satisfaction by resolving issues promptly and partnering with HRBP and business leaders on conflict resolution and employee engagement activities
- Handle tier 1 employee relations issues and work towards amicable solutions with the business leader and HR Business Partner
- Evaluate and escalate employee concerns requiring additional intervention to the HRBP or Employee Relations team
- Support employee questions around leave and escalate to the HR Business Partner when necessary
- Drive continuous improvement in HR programs, proactively making recommendations for improvements in a manner consistent with the company’s mission values
- Ensure employee and site compliance with company policies
- Encourage people and culture practices that promote retention of key talent
- Support employee offboarding for low-risk terminations (termination letter, termination processing-HRIS, badge access removal, personal item removal)
- Respond to unemployment claims and fact finding interviews
Required Skills and Experience
- Associate’s degree in Human Resources or related field, or minimum of 5+ years of Human Resources related experience
- Knowledge of general HR practices
- Proven ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and work streams to deliver quality results
- Experience with HR systems to include timekeeping, payroll, benefits, etc.
- Strong customer service skills
- Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail
- Strong presentation and communication skills
- Experience utilizing productivity tools such as Microsoft Office, PowerPoint and SharePoint
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field
- Bilingual (English/Spanish)
- SHRM Certification
- Experience in Manufacturing and/or Healthcare industry
