Job Description - HR Generalist





























ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS



·         Provide day-to-day HR operational support for assigned locations and employees.  Position is based in Cheyenne, and also supports our Rawlins and Rock Springs locations with travel to those locations on a regular basis.


·         Build positive relationships with management and employees with a focus on employee engagement.


·         Effectively administer and communicate Human Resources policies, procedures, and programs.


·         Support recruiting activities including job postings, interview scheduling, candidate communications, job offers and hiring coordination.


·         Coordinate onboarding activities including paperwork, background screenings, drug testing, physical testing, and orientation processes.


·         Help respond to employee relations matters by gathering information, documenting concerns, and supporting investigations to resolve matters.


·         Support performance management processes through documentation and tracking.


·         Maintain employee records, HRIS data, and personnel files while ensuring data accuracy and confidentiality.


·         Facilitate leave administration, accommodations, and return-to-work processes for assigned locations.


·         Support unemployment claims administration.


·         Compile HR metrics and reports related to turnover, hiring, and workforce trends.


·         Support and/or facilitate employee engagement, recognition programs, and company events, may lead some event organization


·         Participate in HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives.


·         Assist in responses to all government and legal employment matters on behalf of the company for assigned areas. Work with all necessary parties to resolve matters.


 


 


 



ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS



·         Help prepare and deliver HR presentations, training materials, and employee communications.


·         Participate in community outreach, recruiting events, job fairs, and workforce development initiatives.


·         Assist with preparation of HR presentations, training materials, and employee communications.


·         Participate in employee committees.


·         Cross-train in various HR disciplines to support department coverage and continuity.


·         Maintain professional knowledge through training, seminars, and continuing education.


·         Identify opportunities for administrative process improvements.


·         Perform special projects and other duties as assigned.



QUALIFICATIONS/KNOWLEDGE/SKILL/ABILITY



·         Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


·         One year’s experience in Human Resources or related field preferred.


·         Fundamental understanding of Human Resources principles and practices.


·         General knowledge of employment laws and regulations.


·         Familiarity with recruiting, onboarding, HR Administration and leave management.


·         Ability to help coach employees and management objectively through complex, difficult, and emotional issues.


·         Must be able to build and maintain positive relationships internally and externally.


·         Must be able to maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism.


·         Excellent written and verbal communication skills.


·         Good public speaking skills.


·         Strong organizational and time-management skills.


·         Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.


·         Strong written and verbal communication skills.


·         Strong attention to detail and accuracy.


·         Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.


·         Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HRIS systems.


·         Ability to learn and apply company policies and employment regulations.


·         HR professional certification or interest and ability in pursuing professional certification preferred.



PHYSICAL/ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS



·         Operate basic office equipment such as a computer terminal, copy machines, a ten-key calculator, and the telephone.


·         Office environment requiring professional dress and appearance.


·         Sit for 4-8 hours.


·         Walk/Stand for 0-4 hours.


·         Some work outside regular business hours.


·         Occasionally lift up to 15 pounds.


·         Use hands for fine manipulation.


·         Travel by automobile and air is required, with occasional overnight stays.


·         Operate a company vehicle requiring a valid driver’s license (driving record must meet company insurance standards and is reviewed annually).
