The HR Generalist leads and oversees the company's human resources function, providing strategic and hands-on support across recruitment, employee relations, performance management, compensation and benefits, compliance, policy development, and HR administration. This role partners closely with leadership to develop HR programs, ensure compliance with employment laws, foster a positive workplace culture, and support organizational growth while maintaining accurate HR records and systems.

Key Responsibilities:
Recruitment Process & Talent Acquisition
Build the company’s recruitment framework, including job posting standards, screening criteria, interview structure, and selection processes.
Partner with hiring managers to implement the new process and ensure consistent, equitable hiring practices.
Create onboarding workflows, documentation, and training materials for new hires.
Employee Relations Framework & Advisory Support
Develop the company’s Employee Relations (ER) process, including investigation protocols, documentation standards, and resolution pathways.
Provide guidance to managers on performance concerns, conflict resolution, and policy interpretation.
Conduct investigations and document findings using established ER procedures.
Performance Management & Compensation Structure Development
Design the organization’s performance management system, including review cycles, evaluation tools, and manager training materials.
Create compensation guidelines, including pay structures, merit increase criteria, and bonus eligibility frameworks.
Advise leadership on compensation decisions using market data and internal equity considerations.
Benefits Administration
Administer employee benefits, including health insurance, open enrollment, new‑hire enrollments, qualifying life events, and terminations.
Serve as the primary contact for employee benefit questions and vendor coordination.
Develop new benefit programs (e.g., maternity leave, wellness initiatives) based on organizational needs and compliance requirements.
HR Operations & Compliance
Maintain HRIS data integrity (BambooHR) and ensure accurate employee records.
Develop HR reporting dashboards for turnover, headcount, recruiting metrics, and compliance tracking.
Ensure compliance with federal and state employment laws, including FMLA, ADA, wage and hour regulations, and required reporting.
Training & Manager Development
Create and deliver HR‑related training for managers and employees, including topics such as performance management, interviewing, documentation, and policy compliance.
Provide ongoing coaching to leadership and managers who do not have HR backgrounds.
General HR Administration
Maintain HR documentation, correspondence, and filing systems.
Support employees with HR inquiries and ensure timely, accurate responses.
Continuously evaluate HR processes and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and compliance.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required.
Two (2) to Five (5) years of progressive Human Resources Generalist position. Experience supporting a small business environment is preferred. Experience with BambooHR or similar HRIS systems is a plus.
Professional certification (such as SHRM-CP, CIPD, or PHR) is an advantage.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and HRIS databases.
Ability to generate reports and analyze basic HR data.
Strong written and verbal communication skills to interact professionally with employees and management.
Ability to present information clearly and tactfully.
Superior time management, multitasking, and prioritization skills.
Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
Attention to Detail: Accuracy in record-keeping and compliance documentation is essential.
Ability to build rapport with staff, maintain confidentiality, and handle sensitive situations diplomatically.
Resourceful approach to resolving issues, answering employee questions, and adapting to changing circumstances.
Commitment to ethical conduct, data protection, and adherence to company values.
