About the Role:
The ideal candidate will run the daily functions including employee relations, benefits management, regulatory compliance, workplace safety, and employee engagement for the workforce which consists of internal full-time employees and hourly workers. This is an in office position, Monday - Friday 9:00am - 6:00pm. Our HQ address is 21000 Atlantic Blvd. Suite #700 Sterling, VA 20166
What will you be doing day to day?
Work closely with the HR leadership in Implementing and coordinating HR policies, programs, functions, and activities
Oversee the office administrator
Perform routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
Maintain full compliance with all state and federal laws and regulations, and ensure that policies align with the Company's vision
Prepare, generate, and analyze ongoing and ad-hoc special reports pertaining to personnel information and data, including but not limited to issues such as staffing levels, turnover, absenteeism, Affirmative Action/EEO, compensation, promotions, etc.
Maintain and expand knowledge and understanding of existing and proposed federal and state laws/regulations affecting Human Resources management; identify trends that could impact organizational objectives and/or operational resources; and interpret appropriate laws and policies and advise management and associates accordingly
Participate, as appropriate, in the investigation and resolution of ongoing employee relations problems, anticipate problems whenever possible, and develop, recommend, and initiate appropriate steps for resolution
Review, track, and document compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. This may include safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, and certifications.
Conduct new hire orientation and employee recognition programs
Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Your Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field or relevant experience required
2+ years experience in Human Resources
1+ years of recent experience in a staffing/agency setup preferred
PHR or SHRM-CP will be a big plus
Your Skills:
Thorough knowledge of multi-state employment-related laws and regulations
Strong organizational, critical thinking, and communications skills
Strong work ethic, discipline, and performance record
Attention to detail, strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, confidentiality, and sound judgment
Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, or related software
Proficiency in payroll, HRIS, and talent management systems

Benefits
The estimated base salary range for this position is $65,000 - $75,000. The salary range provided is an estimate. Actual compensation may vary depending on the candidate's skills, qualifications, and experience
