Job Description - HR Generalist 2904 - Generous Compensation

We are hiring a competitive HR Generalist 2904 to join our multidisciplinary team at Ultimate Staffing Services in La Verne, CA.

In this role, HR Generalists 2904 support the Director of Human Resources across a wide range of HR functions.

These functions include recruitment, training, payroll, benefits, and more.

M-F 8 am -5pm

Location: Pomona/LaVerne, CA

Pay: $24-$28/hr.

HR Generalist 2904 Responsibilities:

  • Involved in retirement, compensation, benefits, leave, talent management, productivity, recognition, morale, and training programs.
  • Provides talent management support through onboarding, performance management, workforce planning, and succession planning.
  • Processes workers' compensation claims, retirement withdrawals, and retirement submissions as needed.
  • Assist applicants, employees, and supervisors with complex or sensitive employment inquiries.
  • Facilitates orientation and workshops, maintains compliance training records, surveys feedback, and enrollment, and enhances faculty and staff training programs.
  • Facilitates organizational development initiatives like adjunct focus groups
  • Surveys and classification.
  • Assist with job postings, launching search committees, and onboarding new faculty and staff by working with supervisors and managers.
  • Payroll and personnel data entry.
  • Organize quarterly retirement committee meetings with financial advisors and ERISA attorneys, and inform committee members well in advance.
  • Prepare meeting documents with our financial advisors and ERISA attorney, and send them to committee members a week before the meeting.
  • Coordinate training sessions for new retirement committee members.
  • Schedule retirement-related workshops and webinars.
  • Assuring action items from meetings are completed on time.
  • Respond to auditor questions about retirement plan administration.
  • Complete the retirement plan for 5500.
  • Attend the Board of Trustees Audit Committee meeting.
  • Supports employee relations investigations by serving as a witness and taking notes. Responds to subpoenas and prepares litigation files.
  • Researched unemployment insurance claims.
  • Processes adjunct and faculty contracts during hiring periods, including entering data into HRIS systems, auditing paperwork, and assisting departments.
  • Assistance with payroll.
  • Assist with Open Enrollment.
  • Answered employee benefits questions.
  • Assist with billings and daily benefit processes
  • Provide assistance and/or backup to student employment supervisors during orientations, especially during peak hiring periods.
  • Collect student employment paperwork, review it for accuracy, and answer student questions.
  • Email company- wide.
  • Fulfills assigned duties, accepts additional assignments, and assists with HR events as a member of the HR department.
  • Covering HR Front Desk
  • Stays abreast of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies. Complies with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Supports and coordinates leave absences, including CFRA, FMLA, PDL, and Workers' Compensation.
  • Provide timely and accurate information about their rights and responsibilities.
  • As assigned, other duties.

HR Generalist 2904 Qualifications:

  • Working experience as a Human Resources Generalist for three years.
  • CA experience managing leaves of absence and workers' compensation
  • HRIS experience in recruitment and performance
  • Payroll, benefits, and management experience preferred.
  • Presentation and training experience preferred
  • Higher education HR experience
