Bostrom HR Manager

Bostrom is looking for an HR Manager to support our welcoming and inclusive culture, and high-performing team of professionals! In this generalist role, you will support all aspects of the employee experience and HR operations, including recruitment, onboarding, company culture, performance management, compliance, as well as payroll and benefits. You will be a trusted advisor to employees, answering questions and resolving issues. This is a fast-paced, dynamic role where you will play a vital role in maintaining our strong company culture and aligning HR initiatives with business goals.

This is a new role in Bostrom’s HR department which currently includes the Chief People Officer and HR Associate. You will support Bostrom’s growing staff of 60+ employees in multiple states as well as the staff of clients to whom Bostrom provides HR-related services (approximately 25 additional employees). This position will be based in our Chicago office.

Major Responsibilities
Talent Acquisition:

Lead the recruitment process, including developing job descriptions, sourcing candidates, conducting interviews, and making hiring recommendations. Ensure a smooth and efficient onboarding experience for new hires.
Benefits:

Oversee the annual renewals/open enrollment process and the ongoing administration of employee benefits programs for Bostrom and our HR clients, including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
Performance Management and Employee Relations:

Develop and implement a new performance evaluation system to track employee performance and provide ongoing feedback. Draft performance improvement plans, and other disciplinary documentation as needed. Ensure compliance with internal policies and employment laws and regulations.

Major Requirements
5-7 years of mid-level HR generalist experience, with proven experience managing recruitment, onboarding, performance management, compliance, payroll, and benefits.
Proven experience writing HR documents (offer letters, disciplinary documentation, policy and procedures, etc.).
Proven experience presenting information to employees in one-on-one or group settings.
Working knowledge of labor laws and employer tax compliance.
Ability to understand statistical data and mathematical concepts and how to apply them to HR processes. Proven experience using Excel.
Technical capacity, including in-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office. Experience with ADP Workforce Now or other payroll and HRIS platforms strongly preferred.
