Job Description - HR Representative

Position Overview

Keep our communities fed.

Our focus is simple but meaningful, from our distribution centers to our offices — every employee of C&S and their family of companies works to help feed local families, neighbors, and communities.

As a Human Resources Representative, you will be responsible for providing administrative and operational HR support to a warehouse, business unit, or function. You will work hands-on and in partnership with the Human Resources Business Partner to deliver results for the business.

This will include supporting the execution of performance management strategy, cultivating a positive new employee experience, and helping drive employee engagement initiatives. This role will work hand-in-hand with Talent Acquisition partners to ensure that the Company remains an employer of choice for potential candidates.

Job Description

This role is fully on-site, Monday - Friday

Based in Windsor Locks, CT

Pay Rate: $26.00/hr

You Will Contribute by

Preparing for and facilitating new hire orientation.

Maintain employee files and ensure compliance with all laws and regulations regarding work eligibility (I-9 compliance, labor postings, etc.).

Assisting with HR programs that support the business objectives and key performance priorities of the business unit.

Supporting key HR initiatives, including talent management, training, succession planning, workforce planning, performance management, and salary reviews.

Coordinating HR and Company initiatives that enhance engagement, performance, and retention (e.g., company surveys, community events, recognition).

Assisted HR business partners with employee relations investigations.

Ensuring sensitive information remains confidential at all times.

Travel Required: No

We're Looking for Candidates With

1-2 years of Human Resources experience preferred.

Working knowledge of Human Resources related laws and regulations.

Prior experience working in warehousing, distribution, or manufacturing is preferred.

The ability to work with a high volume of employees

Strong internal and external customer service focus.

Effective communication (verbal and written) and presentation skills.

The ability to work independently when required, as well as drive to succeed and a self-starter mindset.

Ability to work collaboratively.

Ability to identify and handle priority and sensitive issues with discretion and a commitment to confidentiality.
