ROLE OVERVIEW
The HR Shared Services Specialist is a key member of the HR Operations team, responsible for delivering consistent, high-quality HR support to employees and leaders across United Comfort Group and its operating companies.
This role serves as the front line of HR service delivery, owning employee inquiries, transactional HR processes, and data accuracy while ensuring compliance, efficiency, and a positive employee experience. The Specialist partners closely with HR Operations leadership, HR Business Partners, Payroll, and Talent teams to ensure smooth execution of core HR services.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Employee & Manager Support
- Serve as the primary point of contact for employee HR inquiries via the HR Shared Services inbox (benefits, pay, policies, HR systems, employment verification, etc.)
- Provide clear, timely, and professional responses while maintaining confidentiality
- Escalate complex employee relations, compliance, or policy matters to HR Operations leadership or HRBPs as appropriate.
HR Operations & Transactions
- Lead new hire onboarding and orientation to include, but not limited to, on-site or virtual orientation for new employees, coordinating documentation, HRIS setup, benefits enrollment, and orientation logistics to ensure a smooth and compliant employee start experience
- Process employee lifecycle transactions accurately and on time (job changes, terminations, LOAs)
- Manage benefits administration, including enrollments, qualifying life events, and vendor coordination. Maintain the Paylocity Benefit dashboard daily.
- Assist with workers’ compensation case administration and documentation tracking
- Maintain accurate employee data in HRIS systems (e.g., Paylocity), ensuring data integrity
Compliance & Documentation
- Support HR compliance processes, including I-9s, audits, file maintenance, and reporting
- Ensure personnel records are maintained in accordance with federal, state, and company requirements
- Assist with acquisition onboarding activities related to HR systems, benefits, and employee records
Process Improvement & Optimization
- Identify recurring employee issues or process gaps and recommend improvements
- Contribute to the development and documentation of standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Support HR technology enhancements, employee self-service tools, and AI-enabled HR solutions
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Payroll, Finance, IT, and Talent teams to ensure aligned and accurate HR operations
- Support HR Operations initiatives, projects, and system implementations as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
- The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, service-minded, and thrives in a fast-paced, multi-company environment.
- 2–5 years of experience in HR, People Operations, or Shared Services
- Experience supporting HR transactions, benefits, or HR systems preferred
- Familiarity with HRIS platforms (Paylocity experience a plus)
- Strong understanding of HR fundamentals and employee lifecycle processes
- Knowledge of basic employment compliance requirements

- Comfortable working in ambiguity and adapting to change.
- Familiarity with HRIS platforms, especially Paylocity, is a plus.
