Job Description - HSE Manager

Sedron Technologies is hiring a talented HSE Manager in Fair Oaks, Indiana!

Founded in 2014 and headquartered in the Pacific Northwest, Sedron Technologies designs, manufactures, installs, and operates advanced water and waste upcycling technologies. With a focus on transforming the paradigm from waste processing to resource recovery, Sedron Technologies works with municipal, agricultural, and industrial customers to process their "waste" into climate-smart commodities through environmentally and financially sustainable methods.

Sedron is seeking an experienced HSE Manager to lead and implement health, safety, and environmental programs across multiple facilities in the Midwest region. This role ensures compliance with OSHA, EPA, and state-specific regulations while fostering a culture of workplace safety and environmental responsibility. The ideal candidate will be proactive, hands-on, and able to travel regularly between sites.

Because we design, build, commission, and operate our technologies, we are looking for individuals who can meet the following essential functions of the position:

Collaborate with leadership in the development and implementation of safety and loss prevention frameworks, including policies, standardized programs, training, risk assessments, and program elements across multiple manufacturing and industrial locations

Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local safety and environmental regulations, including OSHA, EPA, and state-specific laws

Conduct regular facility audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations, providing corrective action plans and ensure timely closure of corrective actions

Facilitate safety incident reviews and ensure learnings are shared, with a focus on Serious Incident and Fatality (SIF) prevention

Lead on-site root cause analysis investigations using industry-standard techniques, and collaboratively identify corrective actions with leadership

Lead and coordinate safety training programs, including hazard communication, lockout/tagout (LOTO), PPE, confined space, and emergency response to build a strong culture of safety and environmental responsibility

Monitor environmental compliance, including waste management, air quality, and water discharge regulations

Serve as the point of contact for regulatory agencies and manage compliance reporting.

Track and analyze safety metrics to identify trends and drive continuous improvement initiatives

Develop and oversee emergency preparedness and response plans

Work closely with operations, maintenance, and HR teams to foster a proactive safety culture

Assist with injury case management and provide support for HSE requests from internal and external customers

Support workers’ compensation case management and return-to-work programs

Manage HSE documentation and ensure proper record-keeping for audits and inspections

Provide leadership and mentorship to site-level safety personnel

Travel to various facilities within the Midwest region to support HSE initiatives and respond to incidents as needed

Coach and mentor EHS contacts, engineers, managers, contractors and others involved in safety projects or improvement activities

Effectively communicate and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, tradespeople, and operations staff, to ensure alignment and successful implementation of HSE initiatives

Arrive to work on time and maintain good attendance

Perform other related duties as assigned

This position has multiple levels of competency to be determined by performance, certifications, and supervisor discretion.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Minimum of 5 years of experience in the health and safety field, demonstrating increasing levels of responsibility

General knowledge of current safety practices, WA L&I, OSHA regulations, and safety system standards applicable to an industrial environment.

Proficiency with Office 365 applications (Outlook, Excel, SharePoint, Word, PowerPoint, OneNote)

Strong ability to effectively communicate environmental, health, and safety concepts, plans, and technical information.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams

Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and safety management software

Minimum requirement for all positions is a high school diploma or GED

Must have effective verbal and written communication skills in the English language

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in Safety Management, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, Industrial/Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering

Experience with EHS data management systems such as Benchmark/Gensuite, EHS Insight, Enablon, or similar tools

Background in programs aimed at improving Human and Organizational Performance (HOP)

Professional certifications such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST), Associate Safety Professional (ASP), or Graduate Safety Professional (GSP)

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Travel up to 30% to support facilities in the Midwest region

May require occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds

Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during site inspections

Comfortable working in industrial environments, including exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures

Willingness/ability to wear respiratory protection or other safety equipment

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Wage range for this role is between $90,000 - $117,000 annually

Discretionary bonus

The range provided is Sedron’s estimate of the base compensation for this role. Actual amount offered will be based on job-related and non-discriminatory factors such as experience, location, education, training, skills, and abilities.

Must be a US Citizen or legal permanent resident for this position. We are unable to sponsor any employment visas.
