POSITION OVERVIEW: As a HSE Specialist at LJA HSE, you will be responsible for providing daily support to the HSE Fleet Safety Program, compliance, and onboarding, including company drug and alcohol programs.
A TYPICAL DAY MIGHT INCLUDE:
Providing support for fleet safety policies, procedures, and guidelines
Ensuring fleet compliance with LJA standards and external requirements
Conducting HSE fleet driver and drug & alcohol database audits
Assisting with maintaining safe driver training programs
Scheduling and follow-up on onboarding processes including assigning HSE drug & alcohol tests and running motor vehicle reports
Maintaining compliance of the LJA driver authorization process, including drug & alcohol screening and MVR reports
Maintaining database of all authorized company drivers
Assisting with insurance claims related to fleet incidents
Any other duties as assigned
REQUIRED EDUCATION/LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s Degree – Occupational Safety and Health or Equivalent Experience
HSE certification (preferred)
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
1+ years HSE experience
1+ years Fleet Safety
Must be able to work independently and also as part of small multidisciplinary teams
Excellent organization skills, time management skills, and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
Must communicate effectively and be proactive in support of problems and solutions
Must have working knowledge of MS Office
IDEALLY, YOU SHOULD ALSO HAVE:
Understanding and comprehension of applicable state and federal DOT regulations that impact our business
