POSITION OVERVIEW: As a HSE Specialist at LJA HSE, you will be responsible for providing daily support to the HSE Fleet Safety Program, compliance, and onboarding, including company drug and alcohol programs. 

A TYPICAL DAY MIGHT INCLUDE:

• Providing support for fleet safety policies, procedures, and guidelines


• Ensuring fleet compliance with LJA standards and external requirements


• Conducting HSE fleet driver and drug & alcohol database audits


• Assisting with maintaining safe driver training programs


• Scheduling and follow-up on onboarding processes including assigning HSE drug & alcohol tests and running motor vehicle reports


• Maintaining compliance of the LJA driver authorization process, including drug & alcohol screening and MVR reports


• Maintaining database of all authorized company drivers


• Assisting with insurance claims related to fleet incidents


• Any other duties as assigned

REQUIRED EDUCATION/LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s Degree – Occupational Safety and Health or Equivalent Experience


• HSE certification (preferred)

 REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• 1+ years HSE experience


• 1+ years Fleet Safety


• Must be able to work independently and also as part of small multidisciplinary teams


• Excellent organization skills, time management skills, and ability to multi-task and prioritize work


• Must communicate effectively and be proactive in support of problems and solutions


• Must have working knowledge of MS Office

• Understanding and comprehension of applicable state and federal DOT regulations that impact our business


• 1+ year DOT Compliance
