Job Title: HUD- Certified Housing Counselor (CHC)
Classification: Full Time non-exempt

Consolidated Credit Solutions, Inc. (Consolidated Credit) is a 501C3 nonprofit agency with almost 30 years of experience. It offers U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) approved housing counseling services to assist consumers with First Time Homebuyer Education and Counseling, Loss Mitigation and Foreclosure Prevention Counseling Services, Rental Counseling, Reverse Mortgage, Financial Literacy Programs, as well as Debt Counseling, Budgeting and Credit Counseling.

Job Description

We are seeking a HUD-Certified Housing Counselor to join the team. The candidate will counsel individuals in various areas, including homebuying education and counseling, foreclosure prevention, loss mitigation, rental counseling, and financial management/budgeting.

HUD Certified Housing Counselor Duties:

Work closely with the team of certified housing counselors to provide group and one-on-one housing counseling, information & referral for clients seeking to purchase a home or facing housing challenges.
Provide monthly, quarterly, and year-end data for reporting.
Maintain client files to ensure the information complies with HUD requirements.
Monitor client caseload, which includes developing strategies for addressing financial objectives.
Keep detailed records of all communications and update logs after each meeting or interaction with clients or lenders, utilizing CMS software.
Conduct monthly reviews to ensure clients' files are securely stored and complete with all required documents and forms, including signed releases and other documentation, in compliance with current HUD regulations and the Housing National Standards.
As needed, assist with homebuyer's education workshops, financial capability seminars, and post-purchase and foreclosure classes.
Follow and enforce the National Industry Standards for Homeownership Education and Counseling National Industry Code of Ethics and Conduct for Homeownership Professionals.
Participate in staff, counselor meetings, and training as scheduled.
Represent Consolidated Credit, when necessary, at events, seminars, networking functions, and community outreach events, as needed.
Other tasks and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills:

HUD – Approved Housing Certification
HECM – Certification – (You have 6 months to obtain this certification)
2-3 years of recent one-on-one comprehensive housing counseling (mortgage default/foreclosure prevention, budget, credit, pre-purchase, reverse mortgage, home mortgage pre-qualification post-purchase counseling, and homebuyer education.)
Ability to operate MS Word and Excel and the assigned Client Management System CMS
Knowledge of local down payment assistance is a plus.

Additional Requirements:

Bilingual – English and Spanish
Ability to identify and resolve complex client/partner issues
Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail
Outstanding communication skills (written and oral) at all levels of an organization
Excellent work ethic
Ability to interact and to work collaboratively internally, as part of a team, and/or across groups, especially with externals
Ability to work late on some weekdays and weekends.
Self-directed/self-starter capable of prioritizing work and meeting deadlines
Ability to respond quickly and effectively to phone calls, emails, and requests
Available for occasional travel within North America.
