Job Description - Human Resource Manager - Join a Leading Company

The Human Resources Manager is responsible for developing and administering human resources plans and procedures that relate to company personnel; contributing to the development of HR goals, objectives, and systems, and maintaining compliance with state and federal regulations. This position requires attention to detail and strict confidentiality. The Human Resources Manager reports to the Director of Operations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES / TASKS:

  • Implement, maintain, and update performance management system to ensure effectiveness, compliance, and equity within the organization.
  • Administer benefits programs including but not limited to health, dental, short-term disability, long-term disability, Cobra, 401K plans, vacation, sick leave, leave of absence, and employee assistance.
  • Oversee the analysis, maintenance, and communication of records required by law or local governing bodies, or other departments in the organization. 
  • Analyze wage and salary reports and data to determine competitive compensation plans.
  • Identify legal requirements and government reporting regulations to ensure they are in compliance affecting human resources functions and ensure policies, procedures, and reporting.
  • Create and revise job descriptions and recruit, screen, interview, and select employees to fill vacant positions.
  • Plan and conduct new employee orientation
  • Maintain records of benefits plans participation including but not limited to insurance and 401K plans, personnel transactions such as hires, promotions, transfers, performance reviews, and terminations, and employee statistics for government reporting.
  • Maintain and revise the company’s handbook on policies and procedures
  • Respond to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Investigate accidents and prepare reports for insurance carriers.
  • Prepare employee separation notices and related documentation, and conduct exit interviews to determine reasons behind separations.
  • Advise management in appropriate resolution of employee relations issues and help to resolve disputes between employees.
  • Experience with administration of PFML, FMLA, and other state requirements.
  • Consult legal counsel to ensure that company policies comply with federal and state law.
  • Contract with outside suppliers to provide employee services, such as temporary employees, search firms, or relocation services.
  • Maintain Driver’s DOT Medical records
  • Perform CORI checks as needed
  • Plan and execute employee events

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred and 10+ years of experience in Talent & Performance Management, Human Resources, Employee Relations, Comp and Benefits.
  • Experience in navigating organizational change and implementing effective change management strategies.
  • Demonstrated expertise in recruitment and staffing processes, including talent acquisition, interviewing, and onboarding.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively at all organizational levels.
  • Knowledgeable in local, state, and federal laws.
  • Commitment to upholding ethical standards and maintaining confidentiality in handling sensitive HR matters.
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certifications are a plus.
  • Paycor experience preferred.
  • Adapts to changes in the work environment and uses resources effectively.
  • Ability to establish priorities, work independently, problem solve and make difficult decisions.
  • Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills.
