Job Description - Human Resources Administrative Associate - Fredericksburg

OVERVIEW


The Human Resources Administrative Associate will perform administrative tasks and services to support effective and efficient operations of the organization's human resource department. Work is performed under regular supervision and guided by well-established, specific agency policies, procedures, and professional office practices.



DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Maintains accurate and up-to-date human resource files, records, and documentation.

  • Answers frequently asked questions from applicants and employees regarding standard policies, benefits, hiring processes, etc.; refers more complex questions to the appropriate HR staff.

  • Provides clerical support to the HR department.

  • Assists in the new employee and orientation processes.

  • Manage various workflows and processes in the HRIS system.

  • Performs related work as assigned.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES



  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

  • Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn payroll management, human resource information system (HRIS), and similar computer applications.



TYPICAL EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND WORK EXPERIENCE


Required:



  • High School Diploma



Preferred:



  • Previous experience working in Human Resources or related office experience.



LICENSURE AND CERTIFICATIONS


None



ENVIRONMENTAL AND PHYSICAL EXPOSURE



  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
