About Us

We are a long-established leader in the food service and hospitality logistics industry, delivering high-quality culinary and service solutions to major airline and retail partners across dozens of sites nationwide. Built on decades of operational excellence and a commitment to quality, reliability, and teamwork, we pride ourselves on being a workplace where people can grow, lead, and make a real impact. Our employees are the foundation of everything we do, and we're looking for driven, service-minded professionals to join our team.

About the Role

We're seeking a bilingual (English/Spanish) HR professional to serve as the sole on-site HR presence at our San Diego facility. This is a standalone role — there is no on-site HR team, and the HR Manager is only periodically on-site — so we need someone who is highly self-sufficient, comfortable operating with minimal day-to-day supervision, and confident making sound judgment calls independently.

You'll be a key partner in supporting recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, attendance/timekeeping, and HR compliance, while helping foster a positive, productive workplace culture. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, service-oriented, and able to juggle multiple priorities while maintaining professionalism and strict confidentiality.

What You'll Do

  • Review applications, phone-screen qualified candidates, and coordinate interviews with department managers

  • Support the full recruiting and onboarding lifecycle for new hires

  • Initiate background checks and drug screenings

  • Support payroll processing and timekeeping/attendance tracking

  • Track and administer leaves of absence

  • Maintain accurate, confidential personnel records and employee files, including data entry

  • Prepare weekly open positions reports

  • Respond to employee inquiries and serve as a day-to-day HR point of contact

  • Assist with Workers' Compensation and liability reporting

  • Handle general HR administrative duties and recordkeeping

  • Take on other duties and projects as assigned

What You Bring

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • 2–4 years of experience in an HR clerk/HR assistant capacity

  • Bilingual English/Spanish required

  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills

  • Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision, and able to interact confidently with all levels of management

  • General knowledge of Federal, State, and County labor laws

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook

  • Strong analytical, verbal, written, and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment supporting a large employee population; flexibility is a must

  • Strict confidentiality and sound judgment with sensitive information

Nice to Have:

  • Prior experience supporting a unionized workforce

  • Workers' Compensation claims experience

Compensation & Benefits

  • $18.32–$27.83 per hour, based on experience

  • Annual profit-share bonus potential

We are an Equal Opportunity and Affirmative Action Employer of Women/Minorities/Veterans/Individuals with Disabilities.
