ENTRY LEVEL POSITION

Job Title: Human Resources Assistant

Global Title: HR ADMINISTRATION & PAYROLL ADMINISTRATOR

Location: Corporate - Auburn Hills, MI

Department: Human Resources

Reports to: Corporate Director Human Resources, NA

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Reporting to the Corporate Director Human Resources, NA this position of Human Resources Assistant compiles and maintains human resources records. Assists department head in human resources related matters, programs, and projects as assigned. Maintains support involvement with all levels of management, and interfaces on a regular basis with corporate human resources personnel.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Performs a variety of human resource administrative functions or may be assigned to defined segments of human resource function.
Records employee information, such as personal data; compensation, performance reviews or evaluations; and termination date and reason.
Processes employment applications and assists in other employment activities.
Assists in communications to employees in benefits and delegated procedural items.
Updates employee files to document personnel actions and to provide information for payroll and other uses.
Examines employee files to answer inquiries and provides information to authorized persons.
Compiles data from personnel records and prepares reports using a computer.
Coordinates event planning for Corporate Office.
Compiles and maintains records for use in employee benefits administration.
May prepare and file reports of accidents and injuries at plant and maintains federal state compliance.
Assists with new hire recruitment, posting and university recruitment fairs.
Plans and conducts new employee orientation to foster positive attitudes toward company goals.
Prepares FMLA, STD, Unpaid Leaves, and Lay Offs to employees while maintaining state federal compliance.
Conducts wage survey within labor market to determine competitive wage rate.
Maintains a high level of confidentiality

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Two-year Associate Degree level knowledge in business administration with minimum 3 years direct experience in human resources clerical support function. P.C. skills required with working knowledge of related software programs.
