The Human Resources Assistant will support the HR initiatives at the Fire Tower location. This includes absence management, employee relations, record keeping, systems management and data accuracy. This role will also support recognition and communication efforts within the plant while acting as a trusted resource for employees and management.

This role is on-site in Tonawanda, NY.

Responsibilities:

Maintains accurate and up-to-date employee files, records and documentation.

Answers frequently asked questions from applicants and employees relative to standard policies, benefits, hiring processes, etc.; refers more complex questions to appropriate senior-level HR staff or management.

Promote, support and educate employees on Employee systems including but not limited to the internal Recognition Program, Careers, Workday, payroll etc.

Conducts or assists with new hire orientation.

Updates various communication channels (TVs, bulletin boards, newsletter) to ensure employees stay informed.

Support other functions with accurate employee record keeping i.e. safety training records.

Maintains integrity and confidentiality of human resources files and records.

Qualifications:

2 or 4 year degree in Human Resources or related field.

1 year experience in an HR role (internships included).

Experience in industrial manufacturing environment, preferred.

Ability to provide administrative and human resources support to a diverse staff.

Must have experience and exposure to modern HR practices and be curious about emerging HR trends.

Data and goal oriented.

Ability to multi-task, deal with ambiguity and challenge the status quo.

Demonstrated competency in computer applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point

Able to effectively communicate and build relationships at all levels within the facility.

Compensation:

$53,372.00 - $71,163.00 DoE
