Job Description - Human Resources Generalist

SUMMARY:

The Human Resources Generalist provides comprehensive HR support across multiple functional areas, including employee relations, recruiting, onboarding, benefits administration, compensation, HRIS management, compliance, and policy administration. This position partners with leaders and employees to ensure a positive employee experience while maintaining compliance with company policies and employment laws.   

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

The incumbent should be able to perform all the following functions at a pace and level of performance consistent with the job performance requirements.

 



  1. Support all aspects of human resources administration to include, but not limited to, benefits, compensation, compliance, employee relations, leave management, organizational development, workforce planning, and other general areas of human resources.

  2. Assist with recruitment and hiring processes, including applicant screening, onboarding, pre- and post-offer requirements, and new hire orientation.

  3. Maintain and update employee records within the HRIS, including new hires, terminations, job changes, compensation updates, and personal information changes.

  4. Provide assistance and information to employees regarding company-sponsored benefit programs and process qualifying life event changes, enrollments, and eligibility verification.

  5. Assist managers and employees with policy interpretation, workplace concerns, and HR-related inquiries.

  6. Coordinate all aspects of employee leaves of absence, including requests, tracking, and reporting.

  7. Support employee relations activities, investigations, corrective actions, and conflict resolution efforts in collaboration with HR leadership.

  8. Generate reports and maintain accurate HR documentation and records.

  9. Participate in employee engagement, retention, training, and organizational development initiatives.

  10. Assist with the termination process, including completion of required documentation in accordance with personnel policies and procedures, and communication of information to separating employees regarding health insurance continuation, final pay, and other required processes. Represent the company at unemployment hearings, as needed.

  11. Assist with legal requests, audits, and other compliance-related activities as required.

  12. Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable federal, state, and local employment regulations.

  13. Perform additional duties as assigned.

  14. Domestic U.S travel may be required.



QUALIFICATIONS:


Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field is required. Three (3) years of progressive human resources experience is required, to include experience in human resources, employee relations, recruiting, benefits administration, employment laws, or HR operations. Additional experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis. Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion is required. Must demonstrate strong communication, organization, problem-solving, and relationship-building skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications or other similar software applications is required.  Experience with an HRIS is preferred. A valid driver’s license is required.
