LHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with a great organization who is looking for a Human Resources Generalist with at least three years of experience. This position will be on a contract to hire basis and will be hybrid in Manhattan. This is a great opportunity for someone who is looking to join a team that champions growth. Responsibilities:
Serve as the primary point of contact for employee relations matters, including grievances, disputes, and disciplinary actions.
Conduct investigations into employee complaints or concerns, ensuring fair and consistent resolution in accordance with company policies and applicable laws.
Develop and implement strategies to promote a positive work environment and enhance employee engagement.
Collaborate with union representatives to address labor-related issues and negotiate collective bargaining agreements.
Interpret and enforce union contracts, ensuring compliance with all contractual obligations.
Participate in grievance procedures and represent the company in arbitration hearings, if necessary.
Develop, review, and revise HR policies and procedures to ensure alignment with organizational goals, legal requirements, and union agreements.
Provide guidance to management and employees on HR policies, procedures, and best practices.
Stay updated on labor laws, regulations, and industry trends to ensure compliance and mitigate risks.
Collect and analyze employee relations data to identify trends, issues, and areas for improvement.
Prepare reports and presentations for management, highlighting key metrics and recommendations for enhancing employee relations.
Conduct training sessions for employees and managers on topics such as conflict resolution, diversity, and communication skills.
Provide coaching and support to managers on handling employee relations issues effectively and in accordance with company policies.
Qualifications:
3+ years of experience in HR roles with a focus on employee relations, preferably in a unionized environment.
In-depth knowledge of labor laws, union contracts, and collective bargaining processes.
Strong negotiation, conflict resolution, and interpersonal skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
Proficiency in HRIS and other relevant software applications.
