About the Role

Southeast Petro Distributors, Inc. is seeking a hands-on, strategic Human Resources Manager to lead HR across our growing organization. This role will partner closely with leadership to support recruiting, employee relations, compliance, performance management, employee engagement, payroll coordination, benefits administration, and day-to-day HR operations.

The ideal candidate is a strong HR leader who is comfortable working in a fast-paced, multi-location environment and can balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution. This position plays a key role in supporting our employees, strengthening our culture, and helping the company continue to grow.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead full-cycle recruiting, including job postings, screening, interviewing, hiring, onboarding, and offboarding. 
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to managers and leadership on employee relations, performance management, corrective actions, and workplace concerns. 
  • Develop, update, and maintain HR policies, procedures, employee handbook content, and consistent HR practices. 
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and HR best practices. 
  • Manage employee records, HR documentation, and confidential personnel information. 
  • Support leadership with workforce planning, retention strategies, organizational development, and employee engagement initiatives. 
  • Oversee compensation planning, benefits administration, and employee programs. 
  • Coordinate payroll processing to ensure employees are paid accurately and on time. 
  • Maintain payroll-related records, deductions, tax withholdings, and employee payroll changes. 
  • Reconcile payroll reports, resolve discrepancies, and respond to employee payroll questions professionally and confidentially. 
  • Track HR metrics and provide reporting to support leadership decision-making.

Requirements

  

What We’re Looking For

  • 5+ years of progressive Human Resources experience. 
  • Strong knowledge of employment law, HR best practices, and payroll regulations. 
  • Proven experience in recruiting, employee relations, performance management, and HR operations. 
  • Experience coordinating or managing payroll for hourly and salaried employees. 
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to partner effectively with employees, managers, and leadership. 
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities while maintaining confidentiality. 
  • Proficiency with HRIS, payroll systems, and Microsoft Office applications. 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or a related field. 
  • HR  certification such as SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR. 
  • Payroll certification such as CPP or FPC. 
  • Experience supporting a growing multi-location team.
