Job Description - Human Resources Manager

Pay: $70,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year

Note: Must have 3+ years of HR experience. Construction industry experience is highly preferred, particularly for candidates who have supported a hands-on, field-based workforce.

Job Description

  • Take ownership of the organization's day-to-day human resources function and serve as the primary HR resource for employees and leadership.
  • Lead recruiting and hiring efforts, from identifying talent through onboarding and employee integration.
  • Develop strategies and initiatives that support employee retention, engagement, and long-term development.
  • Administer employee benefits and serve as a resource for employees regarding benefit programs and policies.
  • Oversee payroll-related HR processes and partner with internal stakeholders to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Handle employee relations matters, including conflict resolution, performance concerns, workplace issues, and policy interpretation.
  • Maintain and improve HR policies, procedures, documentation, and employee records.
  • Partner with leadership on workforce planning, organizational needs, and employee development.
  • Help ensure compliance with applicable employment laws, regulations, and company policies.
  • Build trusted relationships across the organization and provide thoughtful, practical HR guidance.
  • Identify opportunities to improve HR processes and establish a scalable HR function as the company continues to grow.
  • Help shape the culture and employee experience while balancing the needs of employees and the business.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of HR experience required.
  • Experience managing or supporting multiple areas of HR, including recruiting, retention, benefits, payroll, and employee relations.
  • Construction industry experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience supporting a hands-on, operational, or field-based workforce is a plus.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of HR initiatives.
  • Strong judgment, discretion, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field preferred but not required.
  • HR certification such as SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR is a plus.
