Job Description - Human Resources Manager

The pay range for this position is $97,520 - $121,900.00/annually. This position is based onsite at our Cranford, NJ facility.
Overview
The Human Resources Manager oversees the site-level execution of the People & Culture strategy. The Human Resource Manager is responsible for contributing to the development and full execution of plans, systems, policies, and processes for workforce planning, talent acquisition, talent management and development, employee engagement, legal compliance and record keeping, employee relations, total rewards (compensation and benefits), and payroll. This position requires a strong generalist who is collaborative and proactive in problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities
Partners closely with line management, providing HR guidance and coaching on people matters
Acts as a primary point of contact for employees spending time both on and off production areas to be accessible and approachable to employees
Builds a strong business relationship with the site team; works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
Identify ways to increase staff retention and productivity, including implementation of activities to enhance employee engagement
Provides HR policy guidance and interpretation.
Manages workforce needs in partnership with internal talent acquisition team and agencies for hourly non exempt associates
Provides key leadership in development of culture that builds a regional “employer of choice” reputation. Is a champion for company culture and employee engagement
Analyze trends and metrics in partnership with the HR team to develop solutions, programs and policies
Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to line management (e.g.,coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions).
Participates in evaluation and monitoring of training programs to ensure success. Follow up to ensure training objectives are met.
Conducts prompt and thorough investigations into employee concerns, complaints and performance issues to ensure consistency and fairness in the Employee Relations process
Deliver site new hire onboarding and training
Ensure employee documentation is up to date and properly stored
Maintains confidentiality and protects employee data.
Actively identifies gaps, proposes, and implements process improvements
Provides guidance and input on business unit restructures, workforce planning and succession planning.
Maintains current in-depth knowledge of local, state and federal legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance.
Be the subject matter expert on complex employee relations issues.
Be a strategic business partner to site people managers.
Manage day to day process on accommodation and leave of absence requests, including workers compensation.
Support organizational initiatives.
Qualifications:
A minimum of 3 years of HR experience with full cycle recruitment experience
A minimum of 5 years of experience resolving complex employee relations issues.
Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including organizational diagnosis, employee relations, leave of absence, accommodations and workers compensation administration, diversity, performance management, and federal and state respective employment laws.
Skills & Requirements:
Working knowledge of employment laws and other compliance issues
Proficiency in Google Suite and HR system applications, Ceridian a plus
Strong skills in full cycle recruiting
Strong team player, but also able to work independently
Analytical and problem-solving skills, with the

ability to listen and probe to understand underlying needs and/or root cause of an issue
Local, State and Federal labor law knowledge
Ability to provide thoughtful and progressive guidance
Focus on continuous improvement
Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communications skills
Ability to identify, influence, and collaborate with key stakeholders to achieve desired organizational outcomes
Outstanding judgment, sensitivity and high discretion
Ability to perform under high pressure situations
Building and sustaining positive employee relationships by driving empathy, mindfulness, kindness and inclusivity.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent years of experience in Human Resources or related field preferred.

Employee pay will vary based on factors such as qualifications, experience, skill level, competencies and work location. We will meet minimum wage or minimum of the pay range (whichever is higher) based on city, county and state requirements.
