The Instructional Aide shall provide support services to the instructors and students of the Technology program assigned the Hays campus. These services shall include, but are not limited to: supervising shop activities, preparing resources for shop and classroom activities, monitoring and enforcing safety practices, and providing technical assistance to reinforce instruction provided in shop and classroom activities.
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate) required
Associates degree in related field required
Bachelor’s degree preferred
2 years of work experience in specific occupational field
Required knowledge in operation of related instructional equipment
Technical knowledge and understanding of current industry standards and practices
Must have excellent organization and communication skills
Must practice and encourage safety at all times
Teaching experience is preferred, but not required
Basic computer knowledge/skills preferred
Employment is dependent on a pre-employment background screening
Physical Requirements/Environmental Conditions
Where applicable, must be able to lift and handle 75 lbs, also able to push/pull up to 10-25 lbs frequently
Where applicable, must be able to stand or walk for extended periods and frequently climb stairs, ladders, crouch, squat or crawl
Will use hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls
Potential/frequent exposure to and use of chemical products
Frequent use of power tools
Will occasionally work in extremely hot or extremely cold conditions, and movement between hot and cold environments occasionally
Possible stress due to deadlines and/or dealing with unpleasant or angry people

Regular attendance and timeliness
Provide assistance and resources for Technology instructors
Assist technology instructors in maintaining a safe learning environment; especially by practicing safety themselves
Provide support during shop times by supervising students, providing technical assistance, and guiding students working on shop projects
Assess students’ abilities and measure their competency throughout the learning process
Provide assistance to students who are struggling with learning the concepts in the classroom or in the shop
Demonstrate a daily commitment to NCK Tech’s Mission, Vision, and Values
Other duties as assigned by the President or his designee
