Job Description - HVAC Punch Mechanic

We are actively seeking an HVAC Punch Mechanic in the Greenville, SC area to join our award WINNING team.

Work Schedule: Monday- Friday 7:00am-4:00pm MUST be willing to be flexible as jobs may change.   


 


Position Responsibilities 




  • Assist in all phases of HVAC new construction installation and troubleshooting

  • Install duct work distribution systems

  • Ductwork modifications and general repairs or relocation of supplies and returns

  • Gas piping, leak testing and repair of copper gas lines and CSST/Ward Flex

  • Experience with refrigerant line, leak testing and repair

  • Experience with roof work for venting furnaces and proper sealing after repairs

  • Experience with exterior wall penetrations, flashing and proper sealing after repairs

  • Furnace vent piping (B-vent and PVC Venting)

  • Experience with exterior wall penetrations, flashing and proper sealing after repairs

  • Install residential heating and air conditioning equipment to company standards

  • Perform system startup and perform diagnostics for proper velocity, volume, temperature, pressure, etc.

  • Prepares and submits accurate requests for supplies, materials and equipment

  • Interface with customers and clients

  • Make routine adjustments to maximize operational efficiency

  • Follow all company safety guidelines including donning of Personal Protective Equipment and Fall Protection

  • Ability to read and follow blueprints, drawings, design specifications and manufacturer’s instructions to install compressors, motors condensing units, evaporators, piping and other components.

  • Basic working knowledge of National and local HVAC and Electrical codes

  • Originate necessary documents, forms, reports, etc. and queries various computer work systems to extract information concerning projects, materials, or services

  • Material coordination; Coordinates with Project Manager in the identification of proper and correct materials

  • Perform other duties as assigned


 


Minimum Experience and Qualifications


 



  • 2+ years HVAC Experience

  • Valid Driver License

  • Able to adhere to company screenings

  • New Construction experience a plus

  • EPA Certified a plus


 


Physical Requirements




  • Must be able to adhere to large amounts of standing, walking, bending, squatting, sitting and lifting

  • Must be able to speak English and hear to communicate

  • Must be able to use arms and hands to signal, grab, hold, turn, push, and pull: objects, materials, controls and tools

  • Must be able to pick up, lift, carry and move up to 50 lbs.

  • Must be able to work at heights, climb ladders and stairways, and occasionally work off of platforms/scaffolding (using the appropriate fall protection requirements)

  • Must be able to work in all weather conditions (including heat, rain, cold and wind) while wearing appropriate PPE

  • Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to: hard hat, safety glasses, ear plugs, masks/respirators, hi-vis safety vests, gloves and safety toe, construction-grade work boots
