Position Overview

The HVAC Service Technician ensures proper and safe service of all residential equipment.

Key Responsibilities

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and detail-driven Quality Assurance (QA) Technician to join our HVAC team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring all HVAC installations, maintenance, and repair work meet company quality standards, manufacturer specifications, and relevant codes. This position is key to delivering exceptional service and performance for our residential and commercial customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct on-site inspections of HVAC installations, repairs, and maintenance jobs.
  • Verify adherence to company procedures, safety regulations, and local/state building codes.
  • Evaluate equipment operation, airflow, ductwork, refrigerant levels, and electrical components for proper function.
  • Identify workmanship deficiencies and collaborate with technicians and supervisors to implement corrective measures.
  • Maintain detailed inspection records, including checklists, photos, and reports.
  • Provide field coaching and support to technicians on best practices and compliance.
  • Assist in developing and updating quality standards and inspection protocols.
  • Support internal training and technician development by highlighting trends and performance issues.

Requirements

Qualifications

Required:

  • 2+ years of hands-on HVAC experience (installation, service, or maintenance).
  • Working knowledge of HVAC codes, standards, and safety procedures (e.g., EPA, ASHRAE).
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify deviations from standard practices.
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and manufacturer specifications.
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and time management skills.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

Preferred:

  • NATE certification or HVAC licensing (State or Local).
  • EPA 608 Certification (Type I, II, or Universal).
  • Experience with QA inspections, audits, or field supervision.
  • Familiarity with digital inspection/reporting tools and HVAC diagnostic software.
