Lead Finance for a Growing Regional Market

Are you an experienced accounting leader ready to drive regional impact? Midway Mechanical Services is seeking a Regional Controller to oversee multiple business units throughout the greater Phoenix area. In this role, you’ll partner closely with local leaders to strengthen financial operations, ensure GAAP compliance, and provide the insight needed to guide growth in one of our fastest-expanding markets.

What You’ll Do

As Regional Controller, you’ll lead the finance function for multiple business units while supporting day-to-day needs with strong oversight and analysis. Key responsibilities include:

• Overseeing daily accounting functions across business units
• Leading and mentoring accounting teams within the region
• Driving efficient month-end close and financial reporting
• Ensuring GAAP compliance, including revenue recognition and WIP accounting
• Preparing and analyzing financial statements, job costing, and forecasts
• Monitoring KPIs, budgets, and variances to support business decisions
• Supporting the annual audit and compliance reviews
• Partnering with operations leaders to provide financial insight and guidance
• Driving process improvements and implementing best practices across the region
• Implementing and optimizing systems to provide better business insights

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (required)
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 3+ years in a leadership role
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, WIP accounting, and multi-entity structures
• Experience with NetSuite (or similar ERP), field services systems, construction/project-related systems, and system implementation strongly preferred
• Background in construction, mechanical contracting, or service-based industries strongly preferred
• Proven ability to lead regional or multi-unit accounting functions
• Demonstrated high emotional intelligence, sound judgment and ability to lead and influence through change.
