HVAC Service / Controls Technician

Description

We are seeking a skilled and motivated HVAC Service / Controls Technician to join our team. This position is responsible for the installation, programming, commissioning, and servicing of HVAC control systems, with a focus on delivering high-quality work that meets customer expectations and company standards. The ideal candidate has a strong technical background in HVAC and building automation systems (BAS), excellent troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively. Frequent travel is required. U.S. Passport and Real I.D. are required.

Requirements

 MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Install, calibrate, and commission HVAC control systems, including sensors, actuators, and control panels.
• Interpret project drawings, specifications, and sequences of operation.
• Perform preventative maintenance and service calls for HVAC control systems.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, electricians, and other technicians to ensure proper system integration.
• Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, ensuring clear communication and fostering strong, professional relationships.
• Document all work performed, including installation details and service reports.
• Stay abreast of current technologies, tools, and practices in HVAC controls and automation. (EPA Requirements /inhouse training is provided)
• Ensure compliance with company safety policies and procedures.
• Provide training and support to end-users and building operators as needed.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• High school diploma or GED required; associate degree or technical certification in HVAC, electronics, or related field preferred.
• 2+ years of experience with HVAC controls, BAS, or DDC systems.
• Experience with systems such as Trane, Siemens, Honeywell, Johnson Controls, or similar.
• Strong understanding of HVAC systems and control logic.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
• Proficiency with computers and software used in HVAC control systems.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Valid driver's license and ability to do overnight travel to job sites.
• Travel required up to 30% of the time to support project needs.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Comfortable working on ladders, lifts, and in confined spaces.
