HVAC Service Technician

We are looking for an experienced and customer-focused HVAC Service Technician to join our growing team. The ideal candidate is reliable, organized, and thrives in a fast-paced environment. This role requires strong technical knowledge, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to delivering top-notch service. This position reports directly to the Service Manager and requires availability for full shifts and overtime as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

• HVAC Service & Repair: Diagnose and repair residential HVAC systems. Recommend appropriate solutions and provide written estimates for customer approval. Maintain accurate truck inventory and ensure all necessary tools and materials are available for each job.


• Troubleshooting: Perform diagnostic checks on HVAC systems. Evaluate existing layouts and components to determine the most effective repair or replacement strategies.


• Preventive Maintenance: Conduct routine maintenance to ensure system reliability, efficiency, and longevity. Document any issues found and provide maintenance recommendations.


• Customer Communication: Deliver exceptional customer service by clearly explaining findings, answering questions, and addressing concerns with professionalism and courtesy.


• Safety & Compliance: Follow all company, local, and industry safety standards to maintain a safe work environment.


• Documentation: Accurately complete all required service forms, logs, and reports to document work performed, parts used, and recommendations made.


• Team Collaboration: Support company operations by meeting individual and team performance goals, and assisting with various business needs as required.


• Quality Focus: Ensure all work aligns with Service Wizard’s quality and performance standards.

Qualifications:

• Experience: 2–5 years of HVAC service experience; installation background a plus


• Licensing: Valid driver’s license; HVAC certification or licensure as required by local regulations


• Technical Skills: Strong mechanical aptitude and HVAC diagnostic skills; capable of reading schematics and interpreting technical data


• Soft Skills: Excellent communication, problem-solving ability, and attention to detail


• Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, work in confined spaces, and tolerate various indoor/outdoor conditions


• Tools: Proficient in the use of hand and power tools for HVAC service and repair
