HVAC Technician - Charleston

We need an experienced HVAC Tech who knows their way around commercial, industrial, and marina systems. If you've got 8+ years of experience and love working independently, we want to talk.

You'll be our pioneer in Charleston - the first technician in our newest market. While you'll start solo, you'll have full backing from our established Southeast team, with locations in Augusta (our HQ), Atlanta, Savannah, Orlando, and St. Petersburg. As we grow, you'll help build and lead our Charleston team.

Key Responsibilities:

Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair complex commercial, industrial, and water-craft HVAC systems, including:

• Centrifugal and absorption chillers
• Variable air volume (VAV) systems
• Building automation systems (BAS)
• Cooling towers and water treatment systems
• Commercial boilers and heat exchangers
• VRF/VRV systems

Lead preventative maintenance programs:

• Develop and implement maintenance schedules
• Perform detailed equipment inspections
• Document system performance metrics
• Recommend system improvements and upgrades
• Maintain accurate service records

Technical Leadership:

• Mentor junior technicians
• Provide technical guidance on complex projects
• Collaborate with engineering teams on system designs
• Participate in project planning and execution
• Conduct site surveys and equipment assessments

Customer Relations:

• Serve as technical advisor to facility managers
• Provide detailed service recommendations
• Explain complex technical issues to clients
• Maintain professional relationships with key accounts

Emergency Response:

• Handle after-hours emergency calls
• Coordinate emergency repair efforts
• Make critical decisions under pressure
• Ensure minimal system downtime

Compensations & Benefits

Schedule:

• Must be comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces
• Must be able to manage your schedule
• Must be able to work alone on all jobs
• Physical requirements include lifting up to 50 pounds

Required Qualifications:

• 3+ years of commercial HVAC experience
• EPA Type II Certification
• Strong understanding of commercial refrigeration cycles
• Proficiency in reading electrical schematics
• Experience with building automation systems
• Experience with Commercial Boat Systems
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• NATE Certification
• Experience with Trane, Carrier, or York equipment
• Building automation programming experience
• Project management experience
• Technical team leadership experience
