HVAC Technician PM Shift (Santa Fe)

Description

The HVAC Technician installs, maintains, inspects, and repairs heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems and equipment. They troubleshoot current HVAC system issues and perform preventative maintenance to extend equipment lifespan. The technician conducts performance tests using specialized tools, diagnoses electrical and mechanical faults within HVAC systems, identifies maintenance risks, and communicates progress and concerns with management regularly.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS / RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Install, inspect, maintain, and repair HVAC systems.

2. Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues in HVAC equipment.

3. Conduct routine maintenance to ensure system efficiency and longevity.

4. Perform performance tests using meters and diagnostic tools.

5. Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair activities.

6. Provide technical support and direction to maintenance team members.

7. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and internal policies.

8. Be available for on-call duties as needed.

9. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

1. 1+ year of experience as an HVAC technician.

2. At least 3 years of prior apprenticeship under a journeyperson strongly preferred.

3. High school diploma or GED required.

4. Certification or Associate’s Degree from an HVAC program at a technical school required.

5. Valid New Mexico State HVAC technician license required.

6. Valid driver’s license required.

7. Strong understanding of advanced HVAC principles including air conditioning, refrigeration, and heating.

8. Working knowledge of boiler systems.

9. Proficient in balancing air and water treatment systems in accordance with HVAC protocols.

10. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documents.

11. Proficient in the use of test meters and diagnostic equipment.

12. Ability to perform mathematical calculations and problem-solve effectively.

13. Effective verbal and written communication skills.

14. Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.

15. Ability to work safely in various environments (confined spaces, on ladders, rooftops, around fumes, etc.).

16. Requires auditory and visual acuity.

17. Bilingual (English and Spanish) preferred. Ability to work a flexible schedule including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.

18. Ability to stand for extended periods, sit, reach, bend, kneel, stoop, climb, and push/pull/lift items weighing up to 50 pounds. 

19. This role requires the ability to perform tasks requiring manual dexterity, auditory focus, and visual attention.
