Hybrid Insurance Litigation Special Counsel

Our client, an Am Law 100 firm, is seeking a Special Counsel with 7+ years of experience to join its Litigation team in either the New York or Washington, D.C. office.

This is a senior-level, non-partnership track position for candidates with a strong foundation in complex litigation and a keen interest in insurance and reinsurance disputes, including arbitration and trial advocacy. The role involves drafting sophisticated legal submissions, managing expert discovery, preparing witnesses, and participating in arbitral and trial proceedings. Candidates should be eager to take on increasing responsibility and contribute meaningfully to high-stakes matters.

Qualifications:

• J.D. or LL.M. from an ABA-accredited law school
• Admitted or eligible for admission in New York or Washington, D.C.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in complex litigation; experience in insurance/reinsurance is strongly preferred
• Interest in developing trial and arbitration advocacy skills
• Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to manage competing deadlines and work independently
• Professional demeanor and client-service mindset
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team-driven environment
