Position Summary:  Provide hyperbaric oxygen therapy to all scheduled patients.  Performs specific assigned wound care activities and works collaboratively with all other disciplines.  Utilizes the plan of care to implement, deliver, and assess HBO treatments to achieve established patient goals and outcomes.  Assists in the referral development, management and processing to secure timely patient access to HBO care.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Preparation of all patients scheduled for HBO and provides HBO treatment

• Participates in department’s performance improvement plan and collecting data for quality assurance & education

• Serves as the HBO safety coordinator in collaboration with department manager

• Documents all care provided accurately, timely, and completely

• Performs hyperbaric chamber operations and maintenance

• Recognizes change in the patient’s condition and intervenes appropriately with proper communication to provider

• Demonstrates competency in core & unit-specific skills

• Assists in scheduling patients for HBO therapy and wound visits

• Supports front desk procedures, registration process and completion of administrative tasks

• HIPAA Compliance; Complies with Privacy and Confidentiality Policy and Procedures

• Adheres to all Patient Safety Initiatives and Infection Control Procedures

• Assist with day-to-day operations to ensure quality patient care and cost effectiveness

• Assures compliance to regulatory standards, hospital policies, standards of conduct, and SAFE error prevention tools

• Promotes positive morale and teamwork with a strong commitment to customer service

• Demonstrates and adheres to the 7 Behaviors

Required Qualifications: 

Education and Training:

• Licensure, Certification, or Registration within discipline (EMT, LPN) in Illinois
• Certified Hyperbaric Technologist (CHT) preferred
• CPR; Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association
