The Penny Ice Creamery is the only ice cream shop in Santa Cruz that makes ice cream completely from scratch in house using locally sourced and organic ingredients. We make unique flavors like Ballpark Peanut Brittle and Raspberry Rose! We make timeless flavors like Birthday Cake and Straight Up Strawberry, and our classics like Tahitian Vanilla Bean, Fresh Mint Chip, and Dark Chocolate.

As an Ice Cream Scooper, you will be creating a fun and memorable experience for our guests by scooping ice cream, making ice cream sundaes and milkshakes and various novelty items, making coffee and tea drinks (proudly serving Verve Coffee!), and of course, toasting our famous marshmallow fluff. 

We operate four Penny Ice Creamery locations in Santa Cruz County:

Downtown Santa Cruz, Pleasure Point, Aptos Village, and Scotts Valley.

The Glass Jar which includes The Penny Ice Creamery and The Picnic Basket, was founded in Santa Cruz, CA in 2010 with a focus on made from scratch deliciousness, locally sourced ingredients and community.

Requirements

Requirements Include:

• Ability to prioritize and work in a fast-paced environment.

• Ability to work alone/ unsupervised.
  

• Must have availability during the week, weekends and holidays on a reliable basis.
  

• Must be available to work 20 hours a week on a reliable basis.
  

• Preference will be given to individuals with experience in food service, although we will train the right person.
