Ice Cream Vacation Relief

Wage: $27.40 - $30.45

Job Summary:

The Vacation relief position is an essential member of the Production Team. This position is responsible for covering Team member’s job positions when they are on vacation and will require a flexibility mindset working the different hours required week to week. This position also requires a high level of mechanical aptitude, with a very strong emphasis on teamwork.

This position has shared responsibilities in maintaining the company’s SQF food safety, and food quality system, complying with any applicable food regulations, and striving for continuous improvement in all areas.

It is expected that this position participates in the company’s safety program and play a role creating a safe working environment for everyone.

Ice Cream Essential Job Functions:

• Consult recipe, and flavor Ice Cream as needed


• Operate, adjust, and maintain 3 Hoyer KF 3000 freezers


• Operate, adjust, and maintain Hoyer 4000 automatic ingredient feeder


• Operate, adjust, and maintain positive displacement revel pump


• Operate, adjust, and maintain inline 1.5 carton filler


• Operate, adjust, and maintain Safeline metal detector


• Operate, adjust, and maintain Arpac 1.5 wrapper


• Operate, adjust, and maintain Hardening system (quick freeze)


• Operate, adjust, and maintain Huhtamaki Convocan 1.5 forming machine


• Operate, adjust, and maintain 3-gallon forming machine


• Operate, adjust, and maintain 1.5 lidding machine


• Hand fill/Machine fill 3-gallon containers with Ice Cream


• Take out trash as needed


• Assemble pipes and pumps in different configurations depending on needs


• Assist in other departments as needed


• Disassemble pipes, pumps, and equipment used during production


• Clean, and sanitize pipes, pumps, and equipment used during production


• Assemble pipes, pumps, and equipment for production


• Complete any P.M.’s


• Maintain accurate documentation with legible handwriting


• Stack and wrap Ice cream as needed


• Adjust start and end times as needed


• Assist in any areas of the plant as directed by your supervisor


• Weekly clean Drains and Floors, all Conveyors, Plexiglass on Filler and outside of all piping


• Sanitize Phil’s Cooler


• Weekly replace Bander Air Filter, foam conveyors and refill foot foamers


• Foam Conveyors and Floor


• Sweep and Mop Powder Warehouse, Remove Pallets and Sweep Dock


• Replace C.O.P. Socks


• Monthly clean Wrapper, Oven, Ceiling and Lights and Plastic Curtains

Convocan Essential Functions:

• Operate and maintain two Convocan machines.


• Operate and maintain two 3-gallon formers.


• Operate and maintain lidding machine


• Operate the Packaging Scanning System to ensure the correct packaging is used.


• Operate and maintain conveyor systems


• Maintain a clean work area.


• Clearly communicate with the supervisor any maintenance needs


• Adjust start and end times as needed under the supervisor’s direction.


• Be able to work overtime as needed.


• Maintain self and work environment to meet SQF requirements


• Fill 3-gallon tubs of ice cream products as needed.


• Operate the scanning system for incoming raw materials


• Operate multiple machines simultaneously in a fast-paced production environment while making up to 800 3-gallon tubs during shift.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

• Ability to work at a brisk pace


• High School Diploma or GED Equivalent


• Ability to work flexible schedules including shift work, weekends, and holidays


• Good written and oral communication skills


• Good math skills


• Ability to work under pressure


• Must be responsible and reliable


• Must be able to multitask


• Must be able to quickly adjust schedule based on current conditions.
