Job Description - Ice Technician

The Ice and Water Technician position performs hands-on diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs mechanical and technical issues with our water only and water-ice units. May serve as a subject matter expert within the market to ensure operational company standards are met. This position works independently, requires intermediate technical abilities, and must have a positive
customer-oriented approach.
The Ice and Water Technician is experienced in the proper maintenance, repair, and support for the refill station structure, equipment, and surrounding property. Tasks include, but are not limited to general cleaning initiatives, plumbing work, painting, basic mechanical/electrical repairs, ice machine maintenance and troubleshooting, as well as some basic refrigeration system maintenance. The employee may be required to perform route duties at refill stations as defined in the RSR job description. This position requires initiative, attention to detail, and flexibility to perform job duties as assigned by local management.

Position is full time, hourly non-exempt, starting at $15

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Follow safety guidelines and act in safe manner.
• Demonstrate and support the company's Pledge of Conduct.
• Help ensure that every station has the optimum signage.
• Keep all stations working to reduce customer calls.
• Maintain a professional appearance (clean uniform and vehicle).
• Keep a positive attitude when interacting with customers.
• Maintain all assigned units to meet the highest established inspection standards.
• Repair water only and water-ice refill stations as needed.
• Demonstrate competent technical ability within the market.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair mechanical and technical issues with water only and water-ice
refill stations.
• Provide technical guidance, training, feedback and follow up to market employees.
• Maintain and update charts and checklists as required per maintenance level.
• May perform maintenance procedures from routine to advanced on water only and water-ice refill
stations.
• After hours and weekend on-call duties as assigned.
• Keep vehicle stocked with necessary inventory parts per company standards.
• Properly maintain and care for company vehicle, inventory, and equipment.
• Drive responsibly and defensively when operating a company vehicle.
• Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Team Player with positive attitude
• Motivation to work independently
• Attention to detail and task completion
• Use and maintenance of hand tools
• Capable of working required schedule
• Clean motor vehicle record and current valid driver license
• Ability to clearly communicate technical information
• Basic mathematical skills
• Familiar with use of voltmeter and similar diagnostic equipment
• Electrical, maintenance, repair, or similar experience preferred

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to lift 50 pounds
• Capable of climbing ladders, walking, standing, stooping and bending
• Ability to work safely in limited space inside water and water-ice refill stations
• Ability to work in a variety of weather conditions
• Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle
• Ability to work overtime including some weekend or evening work

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND CERTIFICATES

High School Diploma or equivalent
General electrical knowledge and experience
Freon and other refrigerant certification a plus but not required
